Bristol Township School District is partnering with Bristol Cares Coalition for community outreach. The latest project was a Town Hall on Equity, Race and Racism. Truman High School Junior, Dahlia Gumaa sat on a distinguished panel of Civil Rights community leaders. Dahlia has participated in several Black Lives Matters events. She was a featured speaker at a Doylestown event this summer.
She advocates for a diverse curriculum and the recognition of implicit bias in the classroom. Dahlia is an accomplished student, writer and activist. There will be a follow up series to this event. Dahlia is looking for ward to continuing her advocacy work. and is looking forward to bringing about systemic change.
