Fab Lab Center — The Hub for STEAM Fun

CHILDREN and YOUTH:

The Fab Lab Center is the hub for STEAM (Science, Tech­nol­o­gy, Engi­neer­ing, Art, and Math) pro­grams in Bucks County by offer­ing chil­dren, edu­ca­tors, school admin­is­tra­tors, busi­ness­es, and orga­ni­za­tions a place to come togeth­er to engage in STEAM fun and inno­va­tion. This ded­i­cat­ed facil­i­ty is a mod­el STEAM learn­ing space offer­ing after school, week­end, and sum­mer STEAM pro­grams and activ­i­ties for chil­dren and youth of all ages. The Fab Lab Center is only open to those who have reg­is­tered for spe­cif­ic events and activities. 

  • After-school clubs will run for eight-week ses­sions, meet­ing for 60 min­utes once each week. Engineering and Design, Coding and Robotics, Advanced Coding with Arduino, Community Service through Hydroponics, Making through Digital Fabrication, and much more!
  • STEAM Saturdays are once a month and offer more-in depth learn­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties, run­ning for 2–3 hours.
  • Family FUN Nights are being offered once a month and give the whole fam­i­ly a chance to explore, inter­act, and have a great time togeth­er at the Fab Lab Center. 
  • Summer Camp! The Fab Lab Center offers up to 8 weeks of sum­mer camps — all with dif­fer­ent themes and full of FUN! Stay tuned for all the fun to come next summer!

EDUCATORS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

The new Fab Lab Center will be a meet­ing and learn­ing place for STEAM edu­ca­tors. The Bucks IU is ded­i­cat­ed to pro­vid­ing teach­ers and admin­is­tra­tors with the access to knowl­edge and tools that will allow them to suc­cess­ful­ly dri­ve stu­dent inter­est and advancement. 

 

We edu­cate the edu­ca­tor with pro­grams that include cod­ing, best prac­tices in visu­al arts, math, sci­ence, teach­ing and learn­ing, ele­men­tary engi­neer­ing pro­grams, and STEAM inte­gra­tion.  The Bucks IU is a cer­ti­fied provider of Engineering is Elementary (EIE) Professional Development. 

SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS:

The Fab Lab Center can accom­mo­date up to 55 stu­dents for half- or full- day Field Trips. All field trips are cus­tom designed based on the needs of the request­ing school and are designed around a theme, fea­tur­ing com­put­er sci­ence, engi­neer­ing, and/or dig­i­tal fab­ri­ca­tion.  For more details and infor­ma­tion on reserv­ing space, go to: https://www.bucksiu.org/fablab/specialty-programs  

COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS and BUSINESSES:

For local orga­ni­za­tions, busi­ness­es, and com­pa­nies, the cen­ter offers pro­grams for earn­ing badges for clubs to team building/retreat-style work­shops for businesses.
