School begins military service information project

Students and staff at Poquessing Middle School in Feasterville have started a multimedia project that aims to educate students and the community about the opportunities and realities of serving in the U.S. military. As part of this project, U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy visited Poquessing Middle School on May 20 for an interview about his extensive military service. He spoke with a student interviewer about his time serving in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as his experience as an instructor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Students and staff are putting together a website with video stories about Neshaminy alumni and community members who have served, which will be gathered into an interactive resource where students and the community can learn about military service. The site will be connected with a mural that will be painted outside the school starting in the fall; QR codes on the mural will link to individual pages on the website.
