STEAM Online Summer Camp

The Bucks IU’s enor­mous­ly pop­u­lar Mobile FAB LAB is now offer­ing a STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math) Online Summer Camp!

About this Event
Join us for this fun STEAM learn­ing expe­ri­ence! Campers will all receive their own per­son­al CAMP BOX, shipped direct­ly to their home pri­or to the start of camp. Each box will include every­thing they will need to par­tic­i­pate, includ­ing activ­i­ty guides.

Each week of camp will include a set of three core activ­i­ties; one engi­neer­ing, one sci­ence, and one cod­ing based. Additionally, campers will receive a set of three option­al activ­i­ties. All activ­i­ties offer both ‘no tech’ or ‘low tech’ options to allow stu­dents to exper­i­ment and expe­ri­ence at the lev­el at which they are most com­fort­able. BONUS: Every camp box will include an Ozobot robot (a $100 value)!

WEEK 1 July 20–23, 2020: This week’s camp theme is ‘Going Places’. Campers’ imag­i­na­tions will take off as they cre­ate balloon-powered vehi­cles, rock­et launch­ers, and code their Ozobot! Camp Boxes will include either a copy of Going Places by Peter and Paul Reynolds or an assort­ment of excit­ing short arti­cles spe­cial­ly select­ed to inspire and encour­age your imagination!

WEEK 2 July 27–30, 2020: This week’s camp theme is ‘The Great Outdoors.’ Campers’ imag­i­na­tions will take off as they explore the out­doors with this week’s activ­i­ties and code their Ozobot to explore the out­doors! Camp Boxes will include either a book or assort­ment of excit­ing short arti­cles spe­cial­ly select­ed to inspire and encour­age your imagination!

Access to an internet-enabled device is nec­es­sary to join the vir­tu­al ses­sions. Registrants will be giv­en options regard­ing when is the best time of day for their camper to join the online ses­sions. Prior to camp begin­ning, emails will be sent with all the details regard­ing your online access. The week­ly sched­ule will be as follows:

  • Monday — Program intro­duc­tion and details
  • Tuesday — Work day
  • Wednesday — Office hours for addi­tion­al support/help
  • Thursday — Sharing and wrap-up

Once your reg­is­tra­tion is com­plete, instruc­tions and con­nec­tion infor­ma­tion will be sent with­in three busi­ness days to your email. Camp Boxes will arrive at your home 7–10 days before the start of camp!

REGISTRATION CLOSES — July 3, 2020.  Space is lim­it­ed to 150 campers per week. Payment is due with your registration.
