Pennsylvania Department of Education Awards Equipment Grant to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology

Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has award­ed near­ly $1.2 mil­lion in com­pet­i­tive grants to 32 Career and Technical Centers (CTC) through­out Pennsylvania.  Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) locat­ed in Jamison, PA was award­ed $34,902.00 that will be matched by the school for a total of $69,804.  The grant will be used to enhanced pro­grams updat­ing cur­ricu­lum, pro­vid­ing pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment on the new equip­ment and relat­ed cre­den­tial­ing exam, and pur­chas­ing equip­ment that stu­dents will use to learn the new skills.  Specifically, MBIT plans to pur­chase a walk-through met­al detec­tor and SCBA air tanks for the Public Safety pro­gram, portable MIG and TIG welders and a Bridgeport Milling machine for the Welding Technology pro­gram and a SeeSnake Micro Video Inspection Camera sys­tems for the Plumbing pro­gram.  It is through grant oppor­tu­ni­ties such as this that MBIT is able to main­tain state of the art industry-specific equip­ment that pro­vides stu­dents with applic­a­ble  training.
