Middle Bucks Institute of Technology Students Embark on Educational Field Experience for Careers in Construction Day

The Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT) con­struc­tion clus­ter joined the Philly Metro Division of Lennar, one of the nation’s lead­ing home­builders, for a day of career explo­ration, career path­way dis­cus­sions, and skill build­ing on a recent field expe­ri­ence. This edu­ca­tion­al out­ing pro­vid­ed stu­dents with a unique oppor­tu­ni­ty to gain real-world insights into the con­struc­tion indus­try, fos­ter­ing their pas­sion for con­struc­tion and inspir­ing the next gen­er­a­tion of builders.

The MBIT’s Construction Cluster is ded­i­cat­ed to prepar­ing stu­dents for suc­cess­ful careers in the con­struc­tion field. Aligning per­fect­ly with MBIT’s mis­sion, the field trip to Lennar’s Philly Metro Division offered stu­dents a first­hand look at the con­struc­tion process and exposed them to the lat­est indus­try inno­va­tions and practices.

During the field trip, stu­dents had the chance to:

• Tour Lennar’s con­struc­tion sites: Students were guid­ed through active con­struc­tion sites, which pro­vid­ed an immer­sive expe­ri­ence of var­i­ous stages of the con­struc­tion process, from site prepa­ra­tion to fin­ish­ing touches.

• Engage with indus­try pro­fes­sion­als: Experts and pro­fes­sion­als were present to answer ques­tions, share expe­ri­ences, and pro­vide valu­able career advice to aspir­ing con­struc­tion professionals.

• Gain Practical Knowledge: By observ­ing con­struc­tion equip­ment, tech­niques, and safe­ty pro­to­cols in action, stu­dents will gain prac­ti­cal knowl­edge that com­ple­ments their class­room learning.
