The Pennsbury Partners Advisory Board Mini-Grant Committee recently awarded five schools with special, corporate-sponsored mini-grants in the amount of $3,010. The purpose of these grants is to foster partnership developments in each school that:
- Make a positive impact on student academic achievement by linking with curriculum;
- Combine real-life work experiences to prepare students for satisfying careers; or
- Provide students with opportunities for community service activities.
Congratulations to these 2020–2021 winners:
Afton Elementary ($700):
- Rhea Jones/Selena Kelly/ Stephanie Reither/Megan McGee – Rocks, Minerals and Fossils Show with Mike and Roberta Straka (Paleontologists)
- Michele Lippincott/Coleen Jones – UNLESS & Habitats Around the World with the Elmwood Park Zoo
Fallsington Elementary ($850):
- Cherie Lynn Kooker/Jennifer Tietz – Litterless Lunch/Edible Landfill with Waste Management and Gary Sanderson
- Cherie Lynn Kooker/Jennifer Tietz – UNLESS & Habitats Around the World with the Elmwood Park Zoo
Penn Valley Elementary ($600):
- Jennifer McCormac – Rocks, Minerals and Fossils Show with Mike and Roberta Straka (Paleontologists)
- Kevin Haugland – Silent Brass for a Musical Home with Music & Arts
William Penn Middle School ($360):
- Lauren Marcinkowski/Jordyn Dalbenzio – Hand Bell and Looper Class Demonstration and Equipment with Music & Arts
Pennsbury High School- West ($500):
- Jessica Perfetto – PHS student- designed and manufactured wooden dispensers for 5th grade SPARK students with Home Depot
