Benjamin Salvador and Zachary Varano were victors in the Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, in conjunction with its Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. The 27th Annual Greater Philadelphia Auto Technology Competition included 24 of the area’s top auto technical students who competed for a portion of more than $1 million in scholarships, tools and prizes. The competition included several timed group stations to be completed such as vehicle inspection, electrical
station challenge, mock interview with completed application in addition to other stations in the competition. Ben and Zach are both certified in Emissions Inspection, PA Safety Inspection, as well as 609 Certified for
Refrigerant Recycling and Recovery. They earned these industry recognized certifications while in high school as students the Automotive Technology program.
The winners walked away with more than $245,000 in scholarships, tools and prizes. They will now represent the Greater Philadelphia region at the National Automotive Technology Competition in New York City in April.
Ben plans to attend Penn College of Technology in the fall, and Zach is planning to attend Universal Technical Institute, both plan on pursing their passion for Automotive at their respective schools post-graduation. MBIT
