Two Middle Bucks Institute of Technology Students win Automotive Technology Competition!!

Benjamin Salvador and Zachary Varano were vic­tors in the Auto Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, in con­junc­tion with its Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation. The 27th Annual Greater Philadelphia Auto Technology Competition includ­ed 24 of the area’s top auto tech­ni­cal stu­dents who com­pet­ed for a por­tion of more than $1 mil­lion in schol­ar­ships, tools and prizes. The com­pe­ti­tion includ­ed sev­er­al timed group sta­tions to be com­plet­ed such as vehi­cle inspec­tion, elec­tri­cal
sta­tion chal­lenge, mock inter­view with com­plet­ed appli­ca­tion in addi­tion to oth­er sta­tions in the com­pe­ti­tion. Ben and Zach are both cer­ti­fied in Emissions Inspection, PA Safety Inspection, as well as 609 Certified for
Refrigerant Recycling and Recovery. They earned these indus­try rec­og­nized cer­ti­fi­ca­tions while in high school as stu­dents the Automotive Technology pro­gram.
The win­ners walked away with more than $245,000 in schol­ar­ships, tools and prizes. They will now rep­re­sent the Greater Philadelphia region at the National Automotive Technology Competition in New York City in April.
Ben plans to attend Penn College of Technology in the fall, and Zach is plan­ning to attend Universal Technical Institute, both plan on purs­ing their pas­sion for Automotive at their respec­tive schools post-graduation. MBIT
